Special Funding Opportunity for Teachers  with DonorsChoose & Johnson ʻOhana Foundation

In celebration of Farm to School Month, the Johnson ʻOhana Foundation will double donations to qualifying farm to school and school garden requests as part of a DonorsChoose campaign. Farm to School celebrates food education, school gardens, and lunch trays filled with healthy, local ingredients. This Farm to School month we would love to direct support to ‘ĀINA In Schools teachers and projects connecting students to where their food comes from.

To learn more, view the special Project Criteria and then visit the DonorsChoose teacher portal to get started. It can take as little as 20 minutes to create a project, which can then be posted on the website in about 3 days to start receiving donations from the community. As long as funding remains, your project should automatically qualify for the Johnson ʻOhana Farm to School Match if you use the following phrases

AINA In Schools as well as any of the keywords that best describe your project: farm to table, farm to school, school garden, classroom garden, garden tower, harvest of the month.

If you are successful in posting a project this October, please also share the project link via email to info@johnsonohana.org so that we can track the ‘ĀINA In Schools teacher and other Farm to School requests. Funding will run out at some point in November, so we recommend getting your project posted as close to October 14 as possible. Funds are limited per teacher, not per school so we encourage as many teachers from the same school to apply!
